East Hants Family Daycare Agency has expanded and has openings. We focus on offering quality home childcare to our communities. Becoming a part of the Agency will give you a unique opportunity to work from home, build a successful business and earn a great income.
Services to Care Providers
Free to join, new financial incentives to help with opening/startup costs, help with setting up your new business, networking opportunities, free professional development, access to our lending library (nap mats, cribs, furniture, toys, etc.), assistance with programming, supportive home visits, large intake file of families looking for childcare in Approved Homes and more!
Families will receive Universal funding and can also receive subsidy (if eligible)
Effective January, 2024- Up to an additional $1200 annually reimbursed 50% of contributions to RRSP
Effective January, 2024- All care providers will be receiving an additional $10.00 per day for children in their programs between the ages of 0-36 months.
Effective April 1, 2024- $1200 annually to contribute towards self sourced health benefits.

Guidelines for Acceptance
● Care Providers must be 18 years of age or over.
● Care Providers must have and maintain a Certification in First Aid Level C
● Care Providers homes must pass initial inspection
● Care Providers and any individual residing in the home over the age of 18 must have a Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the previous 2 years.
● Care Providers and any individual residing in the home, over the age of 13, must have a Child Abuse Registry Check completed within the previous 2 years.
● Care Providers must follow Provincial Guidelines to foster and maintain health and safety, as well as prevent and control communicable diseases.
● Care Providers must have adequate/proper insurance on the home. Must also have adequate/proper insurance on automobiles, if transporting children.
● Care Providers must have a fenced in yard or within walking distance of an approved playspace.
● Care Providers must read the “Early Learning and Child Care Act” and “Early Learning and Child Care Regulations” .
● Care Providers are required to complete the family home day care training (Level 1) within one year of being approved by the agency.
● Care providers must take 5 hours of Professional Development each year and an additional 6 hours each year if working with infants.
● By law each Care Provider is permitted to care for a maximum of 7 children at any given time, this includes their own children. No more than 3 children may be under 3 years of age, of those 3 children, no more than 2 children may be children under 18 months. A site that is considered school age only is permitted
9 including providers own children under 13.
